One lesson that reads well on a phone and on a projector
A card deck is built from blocks in a column instead of boxes on a fixed slide, so Mosra can lay it out again for whatever screen opens it — a card at phone width, a full slide on the projector.
A 16:9 slide on a phone is a postage stamp
Most lessons are made for the projector and then sent out as a link. On a phone the slide shrinks to the width of the screen, the text drops below reading size, and the learner pinches, scrolls sideways, or gives up. Rebuilding the lesson for mobile means making it twice.
What you get
- Blocks that stack in a column — text, bullets, cards, two columns, image and text, numbers, steps, timeline, quote and table — with the slide growing to fit what you write
- More than 70 card layouts in nine groups and 21 card templates, each drawn in your deck's theme; changing a slide's layout keeps its words
- A picture or colour panel beside the column — left, right, top or behind the content — with up to three pictures
- Desktop, tablet and phone previews in the editor, so you see the card before your learners do
- A share link that lays the deck out again for each viewer's screen, with a Cards / Slides switch
- HTML5, SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI and cmi5 packages that open as cards, with questions and triggers working inside them
Slides or a card deck — two kinds of deck in the same editor
| Slides | Card deck | |
|---|---|---|
| How content is placed | Anywhere on the canvas, by hand | In a column of blocks, by the layout |
| Slide height | Fixed 16:9 | Grows with the content |
| Opened on a phone | The whole slide, scaled down | Laid out again as a card at the phone's width |
| Share link, HTML5 and LMS packages | Slides | Cards laid out for each screen |
| PowerPoint and PDF export | 16:9 slides | 16:9 slides; a slide taller than the frame is scaled to fit |
| Best for | Designs that must stay pixel-exact | Lessons read on phones as often as on a projector |
How it works
- 1
Start a card deck
Create → Card deck and pick one of 44 themes, or open one of the 21 card templates.
- 2
Add blocks
Press + under a block and choose what comes next. It takes its place in the column — there is nothing to line up by hand.
- 3
Share or export
Send the link or export the LMS package. Every learner gets the lesson laid out for their own screen.
What this does not do
- PowerPoint, PDF, PNG and SVG exports stay fixed 16:9 slides. A card slide taller than the frame is scaled down to fit it, not reflowed.
- The deck is laid out again for each screen only when every slide is a card slide. A deck with ordinary slides in it presents as slides.
- A card deck is 16:9 underneath. There is no portrait or custom page size for it.
- You can check and edit a slide at tablet and phone width, but blocks are moved around in the desktop view — dragging is off in the tablet and phone views.
- Blocks are placed by the layout. If something has to sit at an exact spot on the canvas, an ordinary slide is the better tool.
Questions
What is a card deck?
A deck whose slides are built as a column of blocks rather than freely placed boxes. Because the layout knows what comes after what, Mosra can lay each slide out again for the screen it is opened on — a card as wide as a phone, or a full slide on a projector.
Do my learners need an app?
No. The share link opens in any browser, and the HTML5, SCORM, xAPI and cmi5 exports play in a browser or an LMS like any other Mosra package.
Do questions work in a card deck?
Yes. Graded questions and triggers work inside the cards — in the editor's preview, on the share link and in exported packages.
What happens when I export a card deck to PowerPoint or PDF?
You get 16:9 slides, one per card slide. A slide whose content grew taller than the frame is scaled down to fit, so a very long slide comes out smaller. For phone-friendly delivery, use the share link or an LMS package.
Is it free?
Yes. Mosra is free for everyone during the launch period, card decks included, and we will give at least 30 days' notice before that changes.
