Some content cannot go to a vendor's cloud
Public sector, healthcare, defence, banking, or simply an internal policy about where training material lives. Almost every browser-based authoring tool is SaaS-only, so the review ends before the evaluation starts.

What this does not do
- It does not run itself. Self-hosting means you own backups, TLS certificates, upgrades and uptime — that is the trade for owning the data.
- It is not a one-click install. It is a Docker Compose stack, which assumes someone comfortable with a Linux server.
- Some things that reach out to the internet by design will not work on an isolated network. Anything that needs an external service needs that service reachable.
Questions
Does the self-hosted version have fewer features?
The editor and the export formats are the same. What differs is operational: updates arrive when you deploy them rather than automatically.
Does any data leave our network?
That is the point of running it yourself — your decks and your learner records stay on your infrastructure.
What does it cost?
Mosra is free for everyone during the launch period, and we will give at least 30 days' notice before that changes. For a self-hosted deployment, talk to us about your environment first.
