Genially makes it interactive. What does your LMS get?

Buy Genially if any of these is true

This is the shorter list, and it is first because it decides the question for a lot of people. Genially is a good product with a large head start, and three of its advantages are structural rather than cosmetic.

• Your LMS integrates over LTI 1.3 and you would rather not handle package files at all — Mosra has no LTI, and that is a real gap, not a quibble
• You need the content to update in the LMS without re-uploading anything; Genially's dynamic SCORM does that and a re-exported package does not
• Completion, progress and a score are the entire tracking requirement
• Template range and the interactive-element library are the deciding factor — Genially's is far larger and years older
• Your team already pays for Author seats, in which case the marginal cost of using it is zero

The question that actually separates them

Both tools make a lesson a learner can click, drag and answer. The difference shows up one layer down, in what the runtime is allowed to say about it. SCORM 1.2 carries completion, a score and a modest amount of suspend data, and that is the ceiling — the standard has no vocabulary for anything richer.

xAPI and cmi5 do have that vocabulary, and a Learning Record Store is where the statements are kept. If the question being asked of you is 'did they finish it', SCORM 1.2 answers it and the rest of this page is noise. If the question is 'which part did they get wrong', 'how far into the video did they actually get', or 'show me this cohort against last term's', SCORM 1.2 cannot answer it at any price.

What the SCORM plan costs

Genially's plans read, on its own pricing page in September 2026: Free at 0 EUR, Pro at 6 EUR/month and Master at 20 EUR/month for individuals, all billed annually; for teams, Master at 20 EUR/member/month and Author at 40 EUR/member/month. SCORM download is listed against Author.

That is a defensible price for a mature product, and it is not the argument here. The argument is what the SCORM it unlocks can and cannot report, which is the previous section. A team paying for Author and needing xAPI has bought the tier and still not got the format.

Prices move, and the ones above are list prices read from the vendor's page on the date stated. Check them before deciding anything on a number from a comparison page, this one included.

Where this product is behind

No LTI at all. No dynamic update — a corrected lesson means exporting the package again and re-uploading it, which on a course with several modules is a chore Genially's users do not have. A smaller template and element library, by a wide margin. And it is one person's project rather than a company, which for an institutional purchase is a real factor and belongs in this list rather than in a footnote.

What it has instead: all four e-learning standards, a Learning Record Store included rather than sold, PPTX in and editable PPTX out so nothing is trapped, a self-hosted deployment for organisations whose learner data cannot leave, and no per-seat price during the launch period.
